Umesh Nathani serves as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Goelzer Investment Management and a member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. He joined Goelzer in 2020 and brings over 16 years of experience in U.S. equity investing, with a focus on blending quantitative and fundamental approaches to portfolio management.

Umesh is also committed to community engagement and education. He serves on the board of The STEM Connection, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting underrepresented youth with STEM learning opportunities.

Before joining Goelzer, Umesh was an Assistant Portfolio Manager at Oberweis Asset Management, a small-cap-focused investment firm in Illinois. He also worked as a Portfolio Manager at Cozad Asset Management. Umesh began his career in financial services as a Systems Analyst at the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai, India.

Umesh holds a Master of Science in Finance degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is an active member of Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA), a professional group of practitioners focused on quantitative investing.
