Chris W. Cotterill serves as the President of Goelzer Investment Management. He joined in Goelzer in 2020 as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer.

Chris is a member of the board of directors of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, where he serves as Chair of the Economic Development Policy Committee, and Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, where he serves on the Executive and Governance committees.

Before Goelzer, Chris served in a variety of roles, including COO of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Chief of Staff to Indianapolis Mayor Gregory A. Ballard. He has also been a Partner at Faegre Baker Daniels and served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis & Marion County.

During the course of his career, Chris has been involved in a variety of community efforts, including serving on the boards of the CFA Society of Indianapolis, Super Bowl XLVI Host Committee, Project Home Indy, Tourism Tomorrow, Inc., Visit Indy, the Indianapolis City Market, and two neighborhood associations. Chris led the creation of the IEDC and IBJ’s Engage Indiana event and moderated the then-annual event from 2017 through 2021.

Chris is a graduate of Wabash College and the IU School of Law in Bloomington. In 2020, Chris was awarded a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Holcomb, and he has also earned the distinctions of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 (2009) and Who’s Who in Law (2011).
