Chris W. Cotterill serves as President of Goelzer Investment Management. He joined Goelzer in 2020 as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer.

Chris is a member of the board of directors of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, where he chairs the Economic Development Policy Committee, and of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, where he serves on the Executive and Governance Committees.

Before joining Goelzer, Chris held a variety of leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Chief of Staff to Indianapolis Mayor Gregory A. Ballard. He has also been a Partner at Faegre Baker Daniels and served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis & Marion County.

Throughout his career, Chris has been active in numerous community initiatives, including serving on the boards of Super Bowl XLVI Host Committee, Project Home Indy, Tourism Tomorrow, Inc., Visit Indy, the Indianapolis City Market, the CFA Society of Indianapolis, and two neighborhood associations. He also led the creation of the IEDC and Indianapolis Business Journal’s Engage Indiana event and moderated the annual program from 2017 through 2021.

In 2020, Chris received the Sagamore of the Wabash from Governor Eric J. Holcomb. In 2025, Chris was named to the inaugural class of the IBJ’s C-Suite Awards, which honor executives who make a meaningful impact within their organizations, are respected by their peers, and demonstrate innovation and leadership in driving change. He has also been recognized by the IBJ among its Forty Under 40 (2009) and Who’s Who in Law (2011).

Chris is a graduate of Wabash College and the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington.
