Biography
Sara Omohundro serves as an Investment Strategist at Goelzer Investment Management and is a member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. Sara joined the firm in 2024.
Sara is the Founder and Chair of the Board of Directors of Women Investors Network, a networking group and mentorship program for women investment professionals. She is also Chair of the Board of Directors for Take the Reins Youth Stable for Life, a nonprofit that teaches opportunity-gapped youth life skills through horses. She owns two horses herself and competes in hunter-jumper equestrian competitions.
Prior to Goelzer, Sara began her career at the Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS). She was responsible for fund manager due diligence, portfolio management, and asset allocation research. She covered the alternative asset classes, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and infrastructure. During her time at INPRS, she recommended investment funds and managed portfolios worth billions of dollars. She then joined a local venture capital firm, where she was responsible for due diligence, deal syndication, term negotiations, portfolio management, and acted as Chair of the Investment Committee.
She received her Master of Science in Economics from Purdue University, with specializations in financial economics and public policy. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Butler University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, double major in finance, and double minors in mathematics and philosophy. Sara holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and she was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s list of “20 in their Twenties.”
