Cheryl Ackerman serves as Director of Finance of Goelzer Investment Management, overseeing all aspects of the firm’s internal finance functions. Cheryl joined the firm in 2024 and joined the Leadership Team in 2025 and has more than 35 years of leadership experience in fiscal management, mergers and acquisitions, financing and contract negotiations, process improvement, and compliance.

Cheryl is a long-time member of the finance committee for Jameson Camp and former member of its board of directors.

Prior to joining Goelzer, Cheryl served in a variety of roles, including Chief Financial Officer of Proteus, LLC, an investment adviser registered with the SEC, that focuses on investing in alternative assets. She also served as Vice President of Finance and Operations at the International School of Indiana, Vice President & Assistant Treasurer of Finance at Emmis Communications and spent 8 years serving clients at two of the Big 4 public accounting firms.

Cheryl received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, from the University of Albany. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and also earned the distinctions of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 and Junior Achievement’s Best and Brightest.
